The client, a well-known local Santa Fe artist was hesitant to hire a designer, as she thought a designer would try and talk her out of using the local Santa Fe materials she loved so much in the original design. Jamie’s process was as individual as her client. Taking one item at a time and working with the client to ensure each addition was a unique work of art. J. Stoilis Design offered a complete redesign of the kitchen including the deletion of a large clerestory. Jamie added windows that give a very European country feel and offer amazing views that were previously unseen from the kitchen. The integrity of the home’s very Santa Fe style is kept by using the client’s favorite talavera tile. Many of the client’s treasures are incorporated in the design to give a one of a kind, artistic, and warm interior. Jamie designed built-in units to the home, which showcase the client’s extensive art collection. She assisted in the design of the living room fireplace, along with adding textiles to many of the clients favorite furnishings.
