Modern Pueblo Twist

Jamie was hired to design a new kitchen and bath for a pueblo style home, at the same time aiming to fit the client’s modern aesthetic. Challenge accepted. The client purchased the home years ago because of its well thought-out floor plan and gracious spaces, but was never really in love with the traditional finish. Professional help was needed for a project of this magnitude. The task required a careful eye for encouraging a more contemporary feel within a space that was already incredibly traditional. Jamie’s design approach was to balance the old with the new, so as to not to draw undue attention to what was remodeled and what wasn’t. In an effort to achieve that goal, Jamie suggested the clients refinish the woodwork, and add new doors and hardware throughout the home. This step allowed for more consistency with the overall renovation, especially to the areas of concern.

Jamie’s office redesigned the kitchen, master bath, powder bath, and office by providing construction drawings, cabinet drawings, tile layouts and new electrical plans. Jamie’s finishing touches included refreshed furnishings, custom designed beds, and unique window coverings. In her usual style, Jamie stayed very connected to the whole process through to completion, down to every perfect detail.
